The next few days in Ireland were pretty lazy as poor Mattie got sick again and had to stay in bed for a couple of days. We made it as far as Omagh after visiting the Giant's Causeway and stopped for the night. Then it was onto Galway for 2 nights for Mattie to recover. The big plan out of Galway had been to visit Kylemore Abbey because Trace had said how amazing it was and I'd researched it and was so keen! Unfortunately, poor Mattie was really quite sick with fevers and vomiting so Galway was more like two days of recuperating. All good though! Just means we'll have to come back to Ireland in a couple of years time to check out the things we missed! Suits me just fine!
Galway is a lovely University town situated on Galway Bay which is really quite lovely. I got the chance to explore the city centre while Matt was snoozing and had a good time checking out the shops and the surrounds. The next day, we took Mattie to the doctor which was really not a bad experience! The receptionist at our hotel booked the appointment for Matt, it was a 5 min drive from our hotel, it didn't cost the earth (50 euros which I thought was ok for foreigners!) and the doctor was this extremely attractive Irish guy called Sean who had the loveliest accent! Also, he reassured us that Matt didn't have swine flu and wasn't about to kark it and gave him a script for antibiotics which would ultimately make him heaps better in no time! YAY!
We left Galway that day and headed for Limerick to visit our friends, Brad and Nicki! Small town is Limerick but a grea time was had by all!!!!
