Bella Roma!!!!

From the UK, we headed towards Italia! We were both so excited as Rome was one of the places we both really wanted to go to and we were like little kids at Christmas on the plane on the way over! When we got to Rome we again took the Shuttle bus option from the airport and got to our hotel! OH MY GOD! SOOOOOOOOOOOOO LOVELY! Decorated with antiques and with a little chandelier around the light, it was absolutely fantastic! If you ever head to Roma, check out the Hotel Carravagio as Matt and I thought it was the bestest and it was only around $100AUD a night which is pretty good with your own bathroom, fridge and a huge room not far from the Colosseum. The first night we were there was the 31st of October so all the little Roman kiddies and their parents were out celebrating Halloween. We decided to go out for dinner and found what was to become our FAVE Roma food destination. There were only people speaking Italian there so we knew that we'd stumbled upon a local haunt (pardon the Halloween pun!) rather than a touristy place. We had the special of the day which was pork, roasted vegies and Foccacia. OH MY GOD! It was honestly the most divine foodd we'd eaten in so long! The pork was melt in your mouth good and the vegies (zuchinni, potato and eggplant) were perfectly grilled and so divine. We topped it off with a bottle of Pinot Grigio which is not normally what we would have chosen back home but is actually the nicest wine we've had on the trip so far! Thanks to the cute (older) Italian waiter for that tip! We had a really lovely meal, watching the kids and familes celebrate Halloween right near one of Rome's many fountains and it was one of my favourite nights ever! Pretty sure that's when Matt and I fell in love with Roma!!!
